Walnut Creek, CA (PRWEB) July 28, 2008

Hottubguide.com announces the development of an easy-to-use, three-step tool to help consumers easily explore their at-home hot tub and spa options. The move comes in response to the popularity of portable hot tubs and spas. The website’s “Build Your Dream Spa” selector helps potential owners determine the best hot tub or spa to meet their specific needs.

Hottubguide.com decided that “Build Your Dream Spa” should be based on simple, basic questions. These questions, like how many people would you like your hot tub to seat and where would you choose to place your hot tub, guide prospective hot tub buyers toward the best hot tub or spa for their specific lifestyle.

Once these simple questions have been answered, “Build Your Dream Spa” creates a customized hot tub comparison list so that potential hot tub buyers can easily evaluate and compare hot tubs while doing their research. Whether a customer wants a hot tub for relaxation and stress relief, health enhancement, or family time, reducing the guesswork for finding a hot tub that best fits the individual customer is hottubguide.com’s ultimate goal. Hot tub buyers may want to know the price of a hot tub or the cost of upgrade features, so once consumers have built their dream spa, the website has options to request more information or search for the nearest dealer. Since a hot tub or spa is an important investment, taking time to get the right information about finding the best hot tub seems to be a priority for most consumers.

With the current surge in fuel prices and an overall rise in the cost of travel, many Americans are shifting away from family vacations. Instead of spending money on long-distance trips, there’s an increasing trend toward investing those dollars on quality of life at home. Online home improvement and enhancement websites, like hottubguide.com, are becoming popular resources for consumers interested in creating at-home getaways.

About hottubguide.com

As an online resource for finding the best hot tub or at-home spa, hottubguide.com helps consumers compare hot tubs, investigate their options and ultimately guide them toward making a well-informed hot tub buying decision. http://www.hottubguide.com.

A real solution to pollution

San Francisco, California (PRWEB) November 21, 2011

PURETI Inc., an American-based manufacturer of air-purifying, photocatalytic surface treatments, has won Popular Science 2011 “Best of What’s New” in Green Tech. PURETI’s light-activated, water and titanium dioxide based solutions are spray applied to building materials and infrastructure to create self-cleaning and smog-killing surfaces.

Each year, Popular Science reviews thousands of new products and innovations to select the top 100 winners across 11 categories for inclusion in its annual “Best of What’s New” issue. To win, a product or technology must represent a significant step forward in its category. The broad range of environmental and health-enhancing benefits of PURETI was a critical factor in winning the Popular Science Award.

The “magic” behind PURETI’s power is titanium dioxide (Ti02), an earth mineral that is typically used in cosmetics and sunscreen but can also act as a catalyst, in the presence of light, to break down grime and pollution including greenhouse gases, smog-forming NOx and VOCs. This photocatalytic ability to remove pollutants is what has made PURETI an increasingly popular choice for high-performance building projects.

Additional Benefits:

•Air Purification – Actively reduces levels of smog when applied to outdoor surfaces such as roads and building. Creates a ‘healthy’ home environment when applied to the interiors of buildings and homes

•Energy Savings – By naturally oxidizing the air of heat trapping gases, PURETI keeps the treated surface cooler

•Money Savings –Cuts the need for cleaning by >50% and reduces the use of water, chemicals and labor

•Architectural Preservation – Keeps surfaces free of grime and mold

•Green Jobs in America- With its manufacturing plant in Michigan and an ever expanding sales force, PURETI is a putting Americans back to work

“For 24 year, Popular Science has honored the innovations that surprise and amaze us – those that make a positive impact on our world today and challenge our views of what’s possible in the future.” said Mark Jannot, Editor-in-Chief, Popular Science. “The Best of What’s New” Award is the magazine’s top honor, and the 100 winners – chosen from among thousands of entrants – represent the highest level of achievement in their fields.”

Although the use of Ti02 as a catalyst to break down air pollution and create self-cleaning surfaces is not a new technology, PURETI’s researchers have spent 10 years developing and perfecting the worlds most advanced and versatile photocatalytic technology. What separates PURETI from other “Smog-Killing” technologies is the fact that it can be safely applied to virtually any surface–including buildings, fabric, windows, solar panels and roadways– in the manufacturing stage or in field applications. The idea that roadways can be a viable solution to pollution, the fact that buildings can act as trees, or that your curtains can become air-scrubbers has produced great excitement. PURETI is treating schools, buildings and roadways across America, with proven results and effectiveness.

“We are honored to be recognized by Popular Science as a “Best of What’s New” in Green Tech.” said Glen Finkel, president and co-founder of PURETI Inc. This award comes at a very exciting time for us and our industry. The world is recognizing the enormous benefits of “Smog-Killing” technology as a way of reversing the damage that fossil fuel burning is causing to our environment and our health. Advanced manufacturers of building materials, such as Alcoa and Italcementi, are starting to include photocatalytic materials in their products. An entire industry once virtually unknown is becoming a major player in the fight to combat climate change.”

Poor air quality caused by car exhaust, fossil fuel combustion, and commonly-used chemicals, adversely affects the health and well-being of millions of Americans. Real world and lab studies show that PURETI can significantly reduce air pollution by >50% when applied to roadways. Current evaluations of concrete and asphalt roads treated with PURETI demonstrate that a one lane mile (approximately 60,000 sf) of treated roadways can potentially remove 1 ton of NOx annually from our atmosphere. These findings by Louisiana State University researchers will be released at the Transportation Research Board’s annual meeting in January 2012 in Washington, DC.

Internationally, PURETI presented its technology at Photocatalysis: Choose to Improve Your Air Quality, a conference hosted by Cristal Global in London on the 17th of November. This meeting convened leaders in government, academia and industry to discuss the latest innovations in photocatalytic technology and the applications that are available now to help London solve its air quality problems and achieve compliance with EU air quality standards. http://cristalactiv.tcsondemand.com/

When evaluating green cleaning machines, look for scrubbers that can be adjusted to the soil content on the floor to maximize cleaning performance and efficiency. The EcoFlex System, available on the Advance Advenger® rider-scrubber, provides flexibility for cleaning green – without compromising the “clean”.

Minneapolis, MN (Vocus) March 2, 2010

A new white paper from Advance helps in-house and contract cleaners understand today’s dual—or dueling—demands to clean for hygiene and appearance while also minimizing environmental and human impact. “How ‘clean’ is your green floor-cleaning” opens with a recent statement from the Cleaning Industry Research Institute (CIRI) that asserts: “It is imperative that the focus be on ‘cleaning green,’ that is cleaning first, cleaning for health and hygiene, as well as cleaning in an environmentally preferable manner.”

The goal of today’s green cleaning movement is to minimize impact on the environment, building occupants and cleaning personnel. One result has been a reduction in the use of potentially harmful chemicals when scrubbing hard floors in commercial and institutional settings. Intuitively, it might seem that the “greenest” cleaning is done with no chemicals at all. However, maintenance staff still need to meet the standard of clean required for their facilities—whether that standard is simply “cleaning for appearance” or a more stringent requirement for disinfection against the spread of staph and viral infections.

According to CIRI Chairman of the Board Jim Harris, “There are times when decisions are made to go ‘green’ that can have an impact on the actual cleaning process resulting in a less healthy environment.” Because every floor-cleaning challenge is different, cleaning flexibility is essential for successfully balancing the demands for clean and green in relation to hard floor maintenance in schools, healthcare facilities, retail stores, office buildings and similar sites.

Floor machines for flexible cleaning

When evaluating green cleaning machines, look for those that can be adjusted to the soil content on the floor for maximum cleaning performance and efficiency. For example, the EcoFlex System available on the Advenge® rider-scrubber from Advance provides flexibility for cleaning green without compromising the “clean.” Machine attributes that contribute to cleaning flexibility include: ability to use multiple types of cleaners as well as water only; ability to change detergents while scrubbing; ability to change detergent dilution ratio; ability to clean with warm water; and the ability to increase the scrubbing aggressiveness for specific problem areas such as entryways.

For more information on how cleaning staffs can meet today’s need for both clean floors and green cleaning, Advance’s 8-page paper is available as a free PDF download at http://www.ecoflexsystem.com/EcoFlex.html.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 07, 2012

The 14th annual BUILDER Concept Home series to debut at the 2012 International Builders Show in Orlando, Fla., will encompass three distinct homes, each reflecting the lifestyle needs of an important demographic group, specifically Gen X, Gen Y, and Gen B (or Baby Boomers).

Set side-by-side on a cul-de-sac, the trio of homes will be available for free guided tours to IBS 2012 attendees from February 8-11, and will serve as model homes for a 1,900-unit section of the Eagle Creek community near Orlando’s Lake Nona. The Baby Boomer house also will be rendered as a comprehensive, photo-realistic virtual tour within the project website at http://www.BUILDERConceptHome2012.com.

The project represents a significant and market-driven shift for residential development in the current economy. “To be economically and socially viable, new master plan communities have to appeal to a broad spectrum of potential buyers with homes that take into account different lifestyle needs,” says Boyce Thompson, BUILDER’S editorial director. “Homes must also be flexible enough to adapt as household circumstances change.”

The BUILDER Concept Home 2012 also will showcase important shifts in development and home-design strategies, including the product applications that make the project successful.

BEAM Serenity IQS Central Vacuum Systems by Electrolux will assure cleaner, healthier living in both the Gen B and Gen X homes.

“The BEAM systems meet a growing demand of buyers for healthier living environments,” says Brian Campbell, BEAM program manager. “Our systems’ ability to capture more dirt and allergens and completely remove them from the living area helps homes meet green building standards for indoor environmental quality.”

BUILDER commissioned a prestigious project team for the 2012 Concept Home. The builder, Centerline Homes, is the largest private builder in Southern Florida. Woodley Architectural Group, Inc., of Littleton, Colo., designed the Gen Y and Gen B homes, while Canin Associates of Orlando designed the Gen X home and provided the landscape plan for the project. Kay Green Design, Inc., also based in Orlando, will be responsible for the interior design and merchandising of all three homes. Emerson International, Inc. is the development partner.

“Our 2012 project partners serve as benchmarks for quality and innovation,” said Warren Nesbitt, executive director of Hanley’s Wood Residential New Construction Group. “Their expertise and collaboration will make the BUILDER Concept Home 2012 one of our most exciting projects to date.”

Mesa, AZ (Vocus) February 27, 2009

Wholesale shipments of all new RVs, including both motorized and towable RVs, were up 30% in last month from December 2008. However, the shipment numbers in January 2009 were off 70.7% from January 2008 according to RVIA (Recreation Vehicle Industry Association). While these numbers reflect little movement of new RVs so far in 2009, used RVs numbers could be picking up.

There is optimism for used RV sales coming out of RV auctions held across the country in the last few weeks. Most RV auctions are closed to the public and only open to those with dealer or wholesale license. Auctions are often held once a month and most of the inventory is made up of private party repossessions, dealer repossessions, or a dealer liquidating inventory. Where some auctions have averaged 20-40 RVs on the floor in the past, today those numbers are in the hundreds. While January seemed to be a stale month for sales Nationwide, the end of February is showing some movement which could indicate that dealers are doing better. “If more dealers are showing up at auctions (which is what we are seeing), it means there are more consumers buying those used RVs,” says Clint Ethington of Pedata RV Center. “When banks have more than the average amount of repo’s on their hands, and they can’t move those RVs at auction, they tighten up on lending on both the wholesale flooring and retail lending sides. When those extra RVs sell at auction, those banks are more apt to lend. We have high hopes that this signals the beginning of turnaround in the industry and the economy as a whole.”

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) February 03, 2012

On, Sunday, January 29th, 150 beginning and amateur photographers gathered for a day-long photography workshop with award-winning San Francisco portrait photographer Michael Soo at The Lookout in Santa Clara. The fun and informative workshop, “Photography Made Simple,” focused on utilizing composition to tell a story with photographs. Michael will teach another session on Saturday, February 4th. He will also teach an intermediate/advanced workshop on Sunday, February 26th. Registration is open at http://www.soophotography.com/workshop/, and space is limited.

“This class was one of the most engaged and excited groups we’ve ever had. Everyone was excited to try new things and asked great questions. The day just flew by!” said Michael.

Students learned how to maximize their digital or film cameras, and truly understand the foundation of using a camera. Participants learned how to pose large groups and individuals. Michael explained lighting technique and how to utilize light to create mood, and showed the class how to use windows and household items to shape light. The workshop finished with Photoshop tips and tricks to put the final touch on photographs.

On February 4th, Michael will hold another session of “Photography Made Simple.” The introductory photography class is already sold out, but those interested in learning the art of photography are encouraged to join the mailing list to be the first to find out when the next session will be held.

The San Francisco photography teacher will also hold an intermediate/advanced photography workshop on February 29th. It is common knowledge that the best way to get the perfect photograph is to capture it with the shot, instead of trying to fix it up in Photoshop later. “Garbage in, garbage out,” goes the saying.

“But how do you get beautiful shots on the fly? Come find out!” invites Michael. “This class will teach techniques you can use to create standout photos, whether you’re photographing portraits, food, products, or anything else you can think of.”

The photography seminars run from 9 am to 3 pm at The Lookout, located at 605 Macara Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94085. Breakfast and lunch are included. Students should bring a camera (preferably an SLR) and a notebook or laptop.

“We are looking forward to meeting everyone who comes to these classes! Getting to teach these workshops is one of our favorite parts of the job, and we truly appreciate each and every person who decides to spend a day taking pictures and having fun with us,” declares Michael.

For more information about photography classes or any of Soo Photography’s services, call Michael Soo at (408) 666-8455 or visit http://www.soophotography.com.
